I am an Accredited Counsellor/ Psychotherapist and Registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My enthusiasm has always been driven by the individuals experiencing psychological distress with whom I have worked. This has been acquired most recently whilst working over the past fifteen years in GP surgeries in Leicester and Rugby as a psychotherapist. My professional practice has been, and continues to be enhanced by working with clients from a wide range of cultures, ethnic groups and ages. I am always learning.
Prior to this I have worked as a qualified mental health nurse in South and East London which has given me a unique insight into the range and severity of mental ill health and its impact on the individual, family and friends. This was followed by seven years as a health service manager which has added to my understanding of the factors affecting mental health from an occupational perspective.
